Morning
Drop Off: Our doors open at 8:15 AM, with the late bell ringing
at 8:30 AM. Please escort your students up to the school door, and
verify that the greeting teacher sees your child into the building.
Please use care in driving through our parking lot, as many parents
and students will be moving about.
Afternoon Dismissal: The dismissal bell rings at 3:00 PM
(Pre-K dismisses at 11:30 AM). Students line up at the door nearest
their classroom. Carpool students gather at the door for the
youngest member of the carpool. All students must be picked up by
3:15 PM. A late fee will be charged for pickup after 3:15. Please
contact the school if you are going to be delayed.
Dress for The Weather: Please make sure your child
comes to school dressed for the weather! We try to hold outdoor
recess whenever possible, so our students must be dressed to go
outside, with warm hats, gloves, and coats. Also please make sure
all items of clothing are clearly labeled with your child’s name, as
our lost-and-found tends to grow substantially during the cold
weather months!
Snow Day Clarification: In case of inclement weather,
please follow the Gardner School System unless otherwise notified.
If the City of Gardner announces a delay of school due to weather
and it falls on a half-day at TMCA, we will cancel school on that
day. As always, be sure to check to see what the decision of
the Gardner Public Schools is regarding cancellations. We do
reserve the right to differ from their decision. If we choose
to do that, you will receive a phone call.
Communication: All homework and information will be sent home
on the students clipboard each day. Teachers are not able to return
phone calls during class time, but will call back as time allows.
Our monthly newsletter comes home the first week of each month.
Student Behavior: From time to time you may receive
home a Behavioral Notice from school concerning your child. This
notice is not necessarily about a disciplinary concern with your
child, rather, it is a tool to keep you informed about what is going
on with your child at TMCA. Early in the school year, we extend a
good deal of grace to the students as they adjust to the new school
year. After an adjustment period, students are expected to know the
school rules and behavioral expectations. If you receive home a
behavioral notice, please read the comments on the form, and add
your response in the provided spot and sign the form. Return the
form to your student’s classroom teacher the next school day.
Thank you!
Note for Parents:
In case of inclement weather, please
follow the Gardner School System unless otherwise notified.
